The Development Team
The complete development of an Ambulatory
Surgery Center cannot be done by a single person. It requires a team of
architects, attorneys, interior designers, engineers, nurses, equipment
consultants, and administrators. We know the "Critical Success Factors" in
developing financially effective Centers and know through years of
experience that you can't afford to work with rookies who don't share this
knowledge. We take great pride in our ability to work with you in choosing
the most experienced and knowledgeable development team in the country.

Our Development team is led by founder, CEO, and
President Fred W. Ortmann, III. With over 30
years of experience in
virtually every aspect of the healthcare field, Fred Ortmann has enjoyed a
reputation for providing creative, yet practical approaches to some of the
most difficult problems facing communities, physicians, and hospitals.
He is a native of South Carolina, a graduate of
the University of South Carolina and has a master's degree in Hospital
Administration from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
Fred was a Hospital Administrator for over 25
years, and the Vice President for Center Development of the country's
premier developer and operator of surgery centers for almost 10 years. He
has worked on the development of Ambulatory Surgery Centers in 26
states, and knows every step in the development of an Ambulatory Surgery
Center. He is a frequent guest speaker at many national ambulatory surgery
meetings and seminars and has published a number of articles on the
development of ASCs.
"I would like to extend my sincerest thanks
to you for everything you did in helping us set up this endoscopy center. We
have been successful beyond our expectations. Patient satisfaction has been
superb, and we have four additional physicians bringing cases to the center
since we opened. We are adding two more GI physician partners soon, which
should allow us to operate at close to 90% capacity."

background is in secondary education and she was named Missouri Journalism
Teacher of the Year during her time teaching high school journalism. Before
joining Ortmann Healthcare Consultants, Chris worked with IT consulting and

background, Chris specializes in IT consulting for the centers OHC develop
and with other pre-development activities, such as financial feasibility
studies, ASC financing, ASC insurance, and HR benefits.
"One of the best parts about working with
Ortmann Healthcare is that each person is completely at my disposal. The
entire staff is very easy to work with and has walked me through every
process of our venture. From the initial proforma information to human
resources issues, Chris is extremely knowledgeable in every aspect and is a
pleasure to work with. I feel confident that no detail of managing the
start-up of the endo center has been overlooked. I have been working with
OHC for 2 1/2 years and have been completely satisfied with the relationship
we have developed—when I call OHC, I'm calling my friend, not my
consultant." DeAnne Owens,
Practice Administrator, Waccamaw Endoscopy Center (Back to Team Members)

"Nancy has an enormous
amount of experience in gastrointestinal endoscopy and she has been there
'from the ground up' in the creation of successful ASCs. She offers the
ultimate combination of clinical and administrative skills. She understands
the physicians' issues and desires while also effectively navigating the
